Il Green Coffee è un ingrediente ritenuto perfettamente sicuro sulla base delle ricerche realizzate sino ad ora. Negli studi clinici realizzati non è stato riportato nessun effetto collaterale rilevante.

Tuttavia, è importante ricordare che il Green Coffee contiene della caffeina, come un normale caffè ma in quantità molto inferiori. Assumendo Green Coffee quindi è possibile che alcune persone particolarmente sensibili alla caffeina riscontrino alcuni degli effetti collaterali di lieve entità correlati al contenuto di questa sostanza, gli stessi che potrebbero avere consumando del caffè.

Ricordiamo a questo proposito che la caffeina può causare insonnia, nervosismo, agitazione, disturbi di stomaco, nausea, vomito, aumento del battito cardiaco, aumento del ritmo respiratorio e altri effetti collaterali. Il consumo di grandi quantità di caffeina può causare mal di testa, ansietà, agitazione, ronzio auricolare e battiti cardiaci irregolari.

 

Precauzioni e avvertenze

Donne in gravidanza e in allattamento: non ci sono sufficienti informazioni per sapere se è sicuro assumere green coffee durante la gravidanza e l’allattamento. Per precauzione se ne sconsiglia l’utilizzo.

Diarrea: il green coffee contiene caffeina. La caffeina contenuta nel caffè, soprattutto se assunta in grandi quantità, può peggiorare la diarrea.

Sindrome dell’intestino irritabile (SII o IBS): il green coffee contiene caffeina. La caffeina contenuta nel caffè, soprattutto se assunta in grandi quantità, potrebbe peggiorare i sintomi della sindrome dell’intestino irritabile.

Glaucoma: l’assunzione di caffeina, contenuta nel green coffee, può aumentare la pressione all’interno dell’occhio. L’aumento inizia entro 30 minuti dall’assunzione e dura per almeno 90 minuti.

Ipertensione: l’assunzione di caffeina, contenuta nel green coffee, potrebbe aumentare la pressione sanguigna nelle persone soggette a ipertensione. Tuttavia, l’effetto potrebbe essere inferiore nelle persone che assumono caffeina regolarmente attraverso il consumo di caffè o altre fonti.

Osteoporosi: la caffeina contenuta nel green coffee, così come quella proveniente da altre fonti, può aumentare la quantità di calcio che viene espulso attraverso l’urina. Questo potrebbe indebolire le ossa. Le persone affette da osteoporosi dovrebbero limitare il consumo di caffeina a meno di 300mg al giorno (circa 2-3 tazzine di caffè). Assumere integratori di calcio potrebbe aiutare a compensare il calcio che viene perso. Le donne in post-menopausa affette da malattie ereditarie che impediscono di processare normalmente la vitamina D dovrebbero essere particolarmente caute nel consumo di caffeina.

Disturbi di ansia: la caffeina contenuta nel green coffee potrebbe peggiorare lo stato ansioso.

Coagulopatie: c’è qualche preoccupazione relativa al fatto che la caffeina contenuta nel caffè verde potrebbe peggiorare le coagulopatie.

Diabete: alcune ricerche suggeriscono che la caffeina contenuta nel green coffee potrebbe modificare il modo in cui le persone affette da diabete processano gli zuccheri. È stato riportato che la caffeina causa l’aumento e la diminuzione dei livelli di zuccheri nel sangue. Se hai il diabete assumi caffeina con cautela e controlla attentamente i livelli di zuccheri nel sangue.
